Visitors can be good medicine for patients. Family members and friends are welcome to visit. However, patient care is our primary concern at Anderson Hospital, and, in order to enhance the quality of care, specific visiting hours and regulations have been established for each unit. Under special circumstances, visiting may also be restricted.
Visiting hours and regulations are available at the information desk on the main floor. Please follow these guidelines. If you need additional information, please check with the nurse on the unit.
Following are general guidelines for visitors:
Overnight Accommodations for Visitors:
- Tobacco use is completely prohibited anywhere on our property.
- Visitors must dress appropriately and must wear shirts and shoes.
- In order for patients to rest, we recommend no more than two visitors at the bedside at one time. Visitors in semi-private rooms should be considerate of both patients.
- People with colds, sore throats or any contagious diseases should not visit patients.
- Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments or when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient.
- Visitors under the age of 12 are discouraged.
For both privacy and security reasons, accommodations for overnight visitors will be handled at the nursing supervisor’s discretion. Priority will be given to those visitors of patients with special needs or patients in critical condition.
Any personal information about your diagnosis and treatment must come from your physician, and this information is only available to members of your immediate family whom you designate to receive it or your power of attorney for healthcare.
Anderson Hospital adheres to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act's (HIPAA) privacy rule. Within that rule, Anderson Hospital may release a patient's one-word condition and location to the media without obtaining prior patient authorization.
One word conditions include: undetermined, good, fair, serious or critical. We can also inform callers that a patient has been transferred.
Patients have the option to expressly state that he or she does not want information released—including confirmation of his or her presence in our facility.
