Prepared Childbirth Class These classes include information on the emotional and physical changes of pregnancy, warning signs, and birth. Topics covered include ways to cope with labor, how your support person can help, routine hospital procedures and pain relief options. Tour of the Pavilion included.

Fast Track Childbirth Seminar - This class presents content similar to Prepared Childbirth, but in a condensed, one-day, seminar format. Tour of Women’s Pavilion included. Saturdays: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Dates: 1/16, 2/20, 3/20, 5/22, 6/12, 7/17, 8/14, 9/11, 11/13, 12/4
Refresher Class – For expectant mothers and support persons who have had classes within the last few years and want to refresh their knowledge and coping skills for the current pregnancy and birth. Tour of Women’s Pavilion included if desired. Saturdays: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm Dates: 1/30, 5/15, 8/28, 11/20
Sibling Class – Covers the special role of the big brother/sister and teaches them about new baby care and behavior. One parent should plan to attend. Children must be at least 3 years old. Saturdays: 10:00 am - 12:00 noon Dates: 1/9, 2/6, 3/6, 5/1, 6/5, 6/26, 8/7, 9/4, 11/6
Breastfeeding Class – Basic concepts of breastfeeding are covered. Topics include returning to work, pumping, apparel, lifestyle changes and other related topics. Support person welcome. Question and answer period follows presentation. Wednesdays: 6:00-8:00pm Dates: 1/6, 3/3, 5/5, 7/7, 9/1, 11/3, and 12/1 Saturdays: 10:00 am -12:00 noon Dates: 2/27, 4/24, 6/26, 8/21, and 10/23
Birth Options and Interventions - Did you enjoy the breathing and relaxation introduced in childbirth classes? Are you interested in a natural childbirth, doula, gentle birth, or more comfort techniques? This class will provide information on current natural childbirth trends and options and give you additional coping measures and partner support techniques and practice. Class size is limited. Wednesdays: 6:00-9:00 pm Dates: 1/20, 3/17, 6/9, 9/29
Infant/Child CPR - You will learn American Heart Association guidelines on how to assist an infant or child who is choking or not breathing. Additional family members or care providers may attend but must also be registered. Tuesdays: 6:00-9:00 pm Dates: 1/26, 2/23, 3/30, 4/27, 5/25, 6/22, 7/27, 8/24, 9/28, 10/26 and 11/30, and 12/14
Grandparents are Special - This class will update expectant grandparents on the latest information regarding newborn care. They may also explore grand parenting styles and learn basic child development information. Grandparents will learn they have many unique and wonderful things to contribute in the life of a child. Mondays: 6:00-8:30 pm Dates: 1/25, 5/24, and 9/20
Prep School for Dads - Learn the value and impact of a father’s role in pregnancy, and in a newborn’s life. Included are topics such as childproofing your home, car seat safety, baby blues, budgeting for the baby, and how to care for mom and baby in the first days at home. This class also includes an interactive session highlighting newborn care including bathing, diapering, swaddling, feeding and comfort strategies. Moms welcome and encouraged to attend, too! Mondays: 6:00-9:00 pm Dates: 4/5, 8/30, 11/29
Here Comes Baby! - Comprehensive classes that will teach important information you need to parent your new baby from birth and beyond. Newborn topics include quality time, age appropriate play and stimulation, health, and safety. This class also includes an interactive session highlighting newborn care including bathing, diapering, swaddling, feeding and comfort strategies. Mondays: 6:00-9:00 pm Dates: 2/8, 6/14, 10/11
Moving Moms Exercise Class - Stay fit during pregnancy, get ready for labor, decrease minor aches and pains, and get back in shape after delivery with this exercise class targeted specifically for pregnant and newly delivered moms. Classes are ongoing and run in 8-week sessions, but you can join anytime. Call 618-391-5827 for specific information and to enroll.
Mom to Mom Group - A sharing group for new mothers. All mom’s and babies are welcome! The mom-to-mom group is an informal group in which you can find camaraderie, lactation support, and share concerns and successes related to motherhood. Topics may include sibling rivalry, post partum depression, diet, and newborn care to name a few. Meets the 1st Wednesday of each month. Call 391-6057 for times and location.
