Prepared Childbirth Class

This series of three classes includes information on the emotional and physical changes of pregnancy, labor, and birth. Topics covered include ways to cope with labor, how your support person can help, routine hospital procedures, and pain relief options. Tour of the Women’s Pavilion included. The fee for this class series covers both the mother and a support person, and a support person is encouraged to attend. Fee: $40.00

Fast Track Childbirth Seminar
This class presents content similar to the Prepared Childbirth Series, given in a condensed, one-day, seminar format. Tour of Women’s Pavilion included. The fee for this class covers both the mother and a support person, and a support person is encouraged to attend. Fee: $40.00

Breastfeeding Class – This class is designed for mothers who are planning on or thinking about breastfeeding their newborn. Basic concepts of breastfeeding are covered, including both the benefits and challenges of breastfeeding, latch, positioning, tracking feedings, and knowing if baby is getting enough to eat. Transitioning back to work and pumping are also discussed. The fee for this class covers both the mother and a support person, and a support person is encouraged to attend. Fee: $25.00

Here Comes Baby! - This class is designed to assist with the transition of the newborn to home. Parents will learn infant care and safety strategies that will decrease anxiety and allow them to feel confident when leaving the hospital. This is an interactive class, and parents will have the opportunity to practice many holding, diapering, bathing, swaddling, feeding, and comforting techniques. The fee for this class covers both the mother and a support person, and a support person is encouraged to attend. Fee: $25.00

Here Comes Baby Class Dates: 2/28, 3/14, 4/18, 5/16, 6/20, 7/18, 8/15, 9/19, 10/10, *11/15, 12/12

 


Infant/Child CPR - This course is the American Heart Association Family and Friends course. It is a non-certifying CPR course that covers the Infant, Child, and Adult. It is a community level course, and will not result in a certification card. The fee for this class covers both the mother and a support person, and a support person is encouraged to attend. Fee: $25.00

Infant Child CPR Dates: 3/6, 4/3, 5/1, 6/5, 7/3, 8/7, 9/5, 10/2, 11/6, 12/5


Sibling Class - This class is designed to assist big brothers and sisters with the transition of bringing a newborn home. They will learn how babies are unique, what they eat, why they cry, and why they get so much attention! They will have the opportunity to make a gift for the baby to be brought to the hospital when baby arrives. This is an interactive class, and siblings will have the opportunity to learn to help with diapering, bathing, swaddling, feeding, and holding a new baby. At least one parent/guardian must attend, and children must be at least 3 years old. Fee: $10 first child. $5 each additional

Saturdays: 10:00 am – 11:30 

Sibling Class Dates: 1/14, 3/11, 5/13, 7/8, 9/9, 11/4.

 


 

 

Labor and Birth Options - This class is offered in addition to the Prepared Childbirth and Fast Track courses for those interested in learning more about natural childbirth. This is a hands-on class where birth partners will get the chance to learn beneficial pain management and labor progression techniques to include: partner support, massage, relaxation, position changes, birthing ball use, and aromatherapy. The fee for this class covers both the mother and a support person, and a support person is encouraged to attend.

Fee: $25.00

Thursday: 6:00-9:00 pm

Labor and Birth Options Class Dates: 1/5, 3/9, 5/11, 7/13, 9/14, 11/9.
