Surgical Services
Anderson Hospital Surgical Services Department is committed to the communities we serve. Within minutes of your home, board certified surgeons and board certified anesthesiologist are available to provided quality care. The surgeons are supported by an experienced staff of highly skilled registered nurse and surgical technicians. The entire surgical team is devoted to ensuring a positive surgical experience for you and your family before, during and after your procedure. The majority of our nurses and technicians are certified in the area of surgical specialty, achieved by a competency credentialing process.
Surgery
The surgical services department is equipped with state of the art operating suites, utilizing the latest technology and equipment. Anderson Hospital was the first hospital in Southern Illinois to acquire the da Vinci Si surgical System in 2010. The state of the art robotic platform allows surgeons to perform even the most complex and delicate procedures through a small incision with minimal blood loss.
Over 11,000 inpatient and outpatient surgeries are performed annually by surgeon’s board certified in the following specialties:

Many surgical procedures are performed as an outpatient procedure, which allows you to be discharged the same day. Patients are cared for in private rooms before and after the surgical procedure. In the event a longer hospital stay is required, you have the convenience of being directly admitted to the hospital. If your surgical plan includes an overnight stay in the hospital you will be admitted to the surgery department. After your procedure you will be transferred from the post-op recovery room to your room in the hospital.
